Photography for me started simply as a way to document my tribe—my family and friends—in shared experiences of joy. Little sparks of life distilled into tangible memories. My hopes with Trïbe is to help do the same for you; capture a collection of authentic moments with the people you love, alchemised into photographs for you to treasure. Family photography that is alive and timeless.

OFFERINGS

I am a family photographer currently based between Ucluelet and Tofino on Vancouver Island, BC. Trïbe is families, couple and engagement shoots, maternity photography, pet portraits, motherhood and fatherhood, best friends, lovers, golden oldies, and any moment or connection that is important to you.

I’m a lover of wild spaces and natural light, finding inspiration in the stunning local beaches and forests that grace the coast. I also do in-home sessions for those who prefer the sentimentality of their own space—whatever feels most aligned to you.

Shooting with Leïla was such a breeze! Especially for me, someone who LOVES photos but doesn’t necessarily feel totally comfortable in front of the camera. Leïla has the perfect way of just making you feel like she’s hanging out with your tribe for the afternoon. We basically just went about things we like to do as a family. Paint, sit by the fire, garden, play with our pup and go on walks. By doing this she captured some of my most treasured photos and moments of our little family unit that I will hold close to my heart forever.

Leïla is so natural in the way she captures a moment. She makes the whole family feel comfortable which allowed us to just be ourselves, doing our thing, being connected & the photos turned out so incredibly special. Little snippets in time that I will cherish forever.

Leïla specialises in capturing real, intimate moments — there’s no posing or forcing kids to do stuff. She encourages you to “do your thing” while she snaps away. It was easy to forget the camera was there and focus on having fun. With three camera-averse boys (husband included), Leïla’s MO was perfect for us. I’m amazed at what she achieved in such a small pocket of time — the photos are fun, flattering and most importantly, we look like us. In the words of my husband, “That wasn’t painful at all!” Highly recommend Leïla — she was warm, calm, and made everyone feel relaxed.
